How to play Soccer Bros

Pick your player and press Ready. Run the length of the pitch, win the ball and shoot it past the keeper. The player with more goals at the end of the match wins.

Your action key does two jobs: it shoots when you have the ball and tackles when your opponent does. Winning matches unlocks more characters, and you can change your player's kit before kickoff.

Soccer Bros game modes

1. Play Now. Start a match against the computer.
2. 2 Players Same PC. Play a friend on one keyboard, with each player on their own set of keys.
3. Tournament. Play a single-player tournament against computer opponents.
4. Practice. Take the ball onto the pitch with no opponent to learn the controls.
5. Online Host and Join. Host a room and share its three-word code or invite link, or join a friend's room.

Tips and tricks

• Learn your shot in Practice before you play online.
• Check a character's strengths and weaknesses on the selection screen, because their leg, striking, skill, speed and defense ratings differ.
• Time your tackles, since a missed one gives your opponent space to run at goal.

PC controls

• A and D or the left and right arrow keys: run.
• W and S or the up and down arrow keys: move up and down the pitch.
• G, Space, X or L: shoot when you have the ball, tackle when you don't.
• 1 to 6: celebrate and taunt. Enter: chat in online games.
• 2 Players Same PC: the left player uses WASD, G and 1 to 6. The right player uses the arrow keys, L and 7, 8, 9, 0, - and =.
